Ingredients For Speculoos
For the Cookie Dough:
2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon
baking soda
1 teaspoon
cinnamon
½ teaspoon
nutmeg
¼ teaspoon
cloves
¼ teaspoon
salt
½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup (150g) brown sugar
1 tablespoon
milk
1 teaspoon
vanilla extract
For Garnishing (Optional):
Powdered sugar for dusting
Almond slices for decoration
Cooking Steps For Speculoos
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
In another bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy.
Add milk and vanilla extract, mixing well.
Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients, forming a smooth dough.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Step 2: Shape the Cookies
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thick.
Use cookie cutters to shape the cookies, or cut into rectangles.
Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 3: Bake to Perfection
Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
Let cool completely before serving.
